One of the Few Oils I Want on My Face

UPDATE: I now got my hands on two other colors, Rose Envy, and Jam Session, and they were totally worth the wait.

If you don’t think I visited my local Ulta multiple times a week, waiting for a restock of the new E.L.F. Lip Oils, then you clearly don’t know me very well. I waited and was rewarded with my choice from the entire collection, and I chose mauvey-nude Rose Envy and crimson-brown Jam Session.

I originally bought Rose Quartz…because it was literally the last one left, and I only found it by chance while roaming other drugstore makeup brand displays. I’m assuming a customer changed their mind and ditched it. I’ll consider their garbage my treasure. It certainly wouldn’t have been my first color choice, but I have no regrets about it.

This potion is stuffed with tons of marvelous actives that not only pump up the shine but also leave my lips feeling so smooth. Lately, I’ve been wearing it alone with some neutral lip liners, and it gives me the perfect look.

It makes the perfect lip topper, and when I don’t have my balm on me, it’s a great lip treatment alternative. I have perpetually dry lips, so I’m constantly in need of moisture, and I often pick at my lips when they’re flaky. (Which is often.) I put this on when they were excruciatingly chapped, and the mint didn’t bother my pout at all.

Over all, if you’re not in the mood to shell out $30+ for a lip oil, I understand. And I encourage you to embrace drugstore brands as much as possible because they make so many incredible formulas that will save you money in the long run. Of course, I have my own stash of $30+ lip oils that I wouldn’t give up either. I get the best of both worlds. But I do understand that not everyone can fit that into their budget.

The ingredients and textures aren’t exactly a dupe for anything, but on their own, they stand a chance and make a difference in my makeup bag. I purposely reach for them. I see E.L.F. expanding this line, sooner rather than later, and encourage it.

You should definitely grab one of these if you’re a makeup skeptic. I promise you won’t regret trying it.
